Using time-series data from over 24,000 smart meters, we developed a method to detect EV charging behavior and project transformer-level impacts under high EV adoption scenarios. Our approach gave Veitur a temporally and geospatially resolved forecast of grid stress points, enabling smarter investment planning in Iceland’s electrification journey.
